Paektu Plateau 백무고원
The Paektu plateau, correctly known as the Paekmu-plateau in North Korea, is 6,520kmsq. It stretches through five counties including Musan-gun and Yonsa-gun and two provinces including Hamkyongbuk-do in the east. With an average altitude of 1260m It is not to be confused with the larger and higher Kaema-gowon (plateau) that lies further to the south and stretches from Ryanggang-do province westward through the unexplored Jagang-do province.
